It all started when…

Hanalei is a magical place. It is home to many artists and beautiful Hanalei Bay. There once was a fabulous collective art gallery there, The General Store of Hanalei. The building housed a gallery for nearly 50 years. It changed hands a few times, but always remained an art gallery....until 2016, when it closed the doors.... & this virtual window opened.

I am honored to continue to represent Kaua’i artists works. It is about the art, yes…& it’s about the people too. The gifted & talented people who create pieces of art that grace our surroundings.

Artists receive inspiration from the beauty that surrounds them on this Island Paradise. Naturally, Kauai is a special place; Earth, Sea, Sky and it's inhabitants. Artists work with color. Kaua'i has a spectacular array of colors and colorful artists. Each creating original art using various mediums.

HanaleiArtGallery.com predominantly features Local Artists and hosts a few friends from travels in Tahiti and Texas.

A little bit about me, Terri: 

I host this site to represent artists. I moved to Kaua'i a decade ago and helped manage The General Store of Hanalei, as it closed.  I have a background in the arts: film, music & education. I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, with a  B.S. degree in Applied Learning and Development with specializations in Art & French. I worked part time in an Austin gallery, for about 15 years, between feature films (I do makeup, skin care & hair too, please visit kauaimakeupandhair.com), helped host openings, developed client services, general sales & daily business. The once tiny frame shop, grew steadily into one of the most respected, successful galleries in the Southwest today, all under the direction of a one woman powerhouse, Wally Workman Gallery. 

I enjoy traveling. I lived in Paris for year, working (in a salon) and visiting galleries & cathedrals abroad. I've also lived in Nashville for a year, Scotland for a year, have family in London & Tahiti is a favorite travel spot. I like to call it home too, however, I don't go anywhere as often as I think I might like, because I am happy on Kaua'i & kinda hate to leave... Kauai is home to wonderful artists. I am thrilled to share their works.
